Will doWould you mind taking measurements from hub to fender for the front and back? I'd like to see what the factory lift over the lower trim models is.

I really feel all of that. The full time 4WD was nice in the winter. Changing the fogs is fun but the front styling of the 4R Pro is just so good. I would imagine once you drive your 4R Pro you’ll see how much more fun it is to drive than the LC. It’s crazy that they have the same power plant and transmission. The 4R Pro engine is so much more refined, it’s actually quieter than the LC at highway speeds. In sport mode the 4R makes all the right turbo and exhaust sounds. I’m not sure if it’s just the TRD intake and exhaust being the difference but maybe the engine mapping is different from the LC. Also the acoustic glass in the front door of the 4R Pro makes a HUGE difference over the LCThe only goodies I was thinking I would miss from the LC were the heads-up display (I was always trying to adjust my seating position to use it, I wasn't comfortable with it but only had it for 3k miles) and the white/yellow fog lights, which is totally dorky, but I thought it was rad. And of course, the full-time 4--wheel drive.
the LC comparisons are great! I'm in the market for either, and am having a really difficult time deciding between the two. My current vehicle (MDX) has HUD, pano roof, 3 zone climate, and premium leather.Sorry for all of LC comparisons.
The 6th gen 4R is a really really great update to this platform. Toyota improved on the things the majority of 5th gen owners would complain about.
Is the sounds the same with the Trailhunter version?I really feel all of that. The full time 4WD was nice in the winter. Changing the fogs is fun but the front styling of the 4R Pro is just so good. Looking forward to hearing your off-road review!![]()
Just picked up my ‘25 TRDP from Mt States Toyota in Denver this weekend. Paid MSRP of ~$69,000. I traded in my ‘24 Land Cruiser First Edition in trail dust for this T4R. Here are the T4Rs I have owned
- ‘07 Sport silver
- ‘15 Trail Barcelona red
- ‘16 Pro white
- ‘17 Pro white
- ‘18 Pro voodoo blue
- ‘22 Pro lime rush green
- ‘23 Pro solar octane
This was a bit of a tough decision to let my Land Cruiser go for the purchase of this T4R TRDP. They are similar and they are different. The LC had the better interior because it had better continuity and fit and finish. The T4R TRDP has the better driving dynamics and exterior styling. The T4R is much more exciting to drive hands down. Even though they have the same iforce max powerplant and 8 speed transmission the 4R with the TRD cold air intake and TRD exhaust is less turbo diesel sounding while also making better noises and is way more responsive.
As far as comparing it to the 5th gen I think Toyota did a great job with this generation update. More power. More torque. More modern tech. Better MPG. The styling is very much in the lineage of 4R all around. Interior still feels like a 4R. This really is an amazing T4R and I think Toyota knocked it out of the park with this generation.

It doesn’t have that intake noise the TH has but with the TRD intake you can hear the turbo spool a lot more than my LC did. I personally like the turbo spoolIs the sounds the same with the Trailhunter version?
yup. static is still, dynamic is moving. The ARB rack on the trailhunter is on the low end for both compared to some third-party racks. What's static vs dynamic load? Sitting still vs moving?
Toyota ones and frame mounted. Super easyAre those the Toyota sliders? Can you confirm if they are frame mounted? My dealer doesn’t know yet and i don’t want to add them if they’re body mounted.
Thanks very much!Toyota ones and frame mounted. Super easy
Looks like ~22” up front and ~23” in rearWould you mind taking measurements from hub to fender for the front and back? I'd like to see what the factory lift over the lower trim models is.
