One thing i really love about the 6th Gen PRO is just how much presence it has and the unique look it has compared to the other trims.

The 5th gen pro and a ORP looked so similar it was hard to tell them apart.

With the 6th gen you can immediately tell it’s different and that it’s the TRD PRO. Really adds to the “specialness” of it.

Same way when you see a Ford Raptor on the road it stands out and you can’t mistake it for another F-150.

As corny as it sounds i feel like stuff like that matters when im dropping 70k plus on a truck.

100% agree with that. I messaged a bit with the guys at Team 4Runner on IG before mine was delivered. I was soliciting their opinion because I know that they had been invited to one of the 4Runner drive events earlier this year and wanted to hear some hands on opinions. The one thing they said that stuck out me was the message that said this version of TRD Pro is actually a very different vehicle from the other trim levels and not just a suspension and some minor trim bits. I can’t speak to how all the other trim levels drive as I’ve only driven a TRD Sport non hybrid on a quick test drive. The TRD Pro has those Raptor vibes for sure in the noises it makes, especially in Sport mode. It feels very driver focused and is really fun to drive considering it’s a 5,500lb truck/suv

Do you have any issues with the backseat space ?

Will have a forward facing car seat in mine but planning to have another kid in the future hopefully lol

Thanks for answering all the questions ! I’m even more excited for my Mudbath Pro now after reading your review.

Haha. I’ve been there not too long ago. I spent a lot of time jumping in and out of my Land Cruiser 250 and into this 4R trying to figure out this backseat stuff. What I determined is that the backseat space once you’re in the vehicle feels very similar to the 5th gen 4R. It’s also similar to the LC 250. The LC had more overall headroom in the back. It’s really not that noticeable of a difference unless you’re like 6’5”. What I noticed about this 4R is that the C pillar slopes pretty aggressively forward and that makes it a bit more difficult to get into the backseat of the 4R. I think that’s the difference that we all are talking about when discussing the backseat space. For kids will be PLENTY of room. Acceptable for adults. And yes, mudbath is probably the best color I’ve owned on a TRDP. A bit more mature than my lime rush or solar octane. 🙂

There’s better aftermarket roof rack options anyway since the Trailhunter roof rack weight load capacity isn’t very high - static load capacity 700 pounds / dynamic capacity 165 pounds.
What's static vs dynamic load? Sitting still vs moving?

TRD Pro looks great. Bummer about the exhaust tips. I'm curious about your rock sliders. Looks like thats an optional add on installed at the port? What was the cost listed on the window sticker for the rock sliders?

I paid for them extra at the closing of the purchase. Had parts department order them for me. Not a port install

Good info. Do you find the T4R Pro to have more interior space/compartments than the LC? Seems to be the LC has a more premium feel but way less storage. Vs the T4R has a more rugged feel and also more storage.

Do you miss the heads up display from the LC? That's one thing I wish Toyota made available with the new 4runner. Only the platinum trim gets it I believe.

Congrats on the sweet MSRP deal. With that previous ownership list and the TRD Pro now, to say you bleed 4Runner would be an understatement.

I know MPG isn't the point of the 4Runner's Hybrid engine, but please let us know your MPG as you put on more miles. I'd still be curious to know.
Yes please!

There are more cupholders and a few pockets in the forward molle panels have a bit more storage than the LC. Had the cool box on the LC and that’s where all the sunglasses and tissue lived so that’s the same amount of space in the 4R. The interior of the LC is a more premium feel but I wouldn’t say it has ‘way’ less storage. It was really hard to compare the LC interior to the 4R. I believe the 4R interior is closer to its truck roots. It’s nice and has lots of functionality. The LC interior is very cohesive and is premium like an LC should be. Very very hard to cross shop them. The interior of the LC wins in the comparison for me. But the 4R Pro is so much more fun to drive. And I like the styling of the 4R a bit better. But that’s my opinion. I do miss the heads up display maybe a little. In general though I’ve always had a hard time caging my eyes to the heads up display info. I found myself looking at the gauge cluster more than the info on the heads up display. So sure I would like it on the 4R Pro but I don’t miss it either

Would you mind taking measurements from hub to fender for the front and back? I'd like to see what the factory lift over the lower trim models is.
