What kind of increases in tire & road noise is everyone seeing after installing lifts & different tires on the 6th gen? Are there ways to reduce or mitigate?

I installed 285/75r17 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires (load range C) on Method MR318 wheels. Complimented by the Westcott Pre Collar lift.

Immediately noticed a fair increase in road noise. Honestly, it’s been more than I reasonably expected, but I’m starting to wonder if this isn’t all from the tire change. Possibly other variables at play. Curious what everyone else is hearing & feeling?

P.S.- Of course I had to remove the front air dam for aesthetic purposes. So that’s a variable as well with increases undercarriage air flow & turbulent air.

I moved to 275/70R18 Wildpeak AT4s and didn't notice too much of an increase. On a road trip the biggest noise factor I found was closing the sun shade on the moon roof at high speeds.

Good to hear! & that’s a good point.

Any lift?

Starting to think the additional noise I personally hear (mostly highway speeds) is more so due to the lift & not the tires.

I changed out tires to 265/70R17 Falken Wildpeaks on my SR5 from 245/70R17 stock. Definitely noticed a slight increase in noise but not bad. I also removed air dam. I went modest with tire size/beefiness (1.3" more diameter) as I was concerned about noise myself. I'm sure as you add up the mods it's going to cause more noise, but I have no idea if that's normal or can be mitigated. Maybe add sound dampening materials in the vehicle?

Great points. Since it was done all at once in my case, it’s likely all adding up & not just one mod that’s the root cause! Not complaining. I knew it came with the territory but started to question if it was normal or if what I am hearing is out of the norm.

I’m considering throwing some dynamat in the front wheel well area & floor boards.

I heard good things about the Wildpeaks (AT4W?) especially with how smooth & quiet they are for an AT.
