Hey guys,

I have an ORP with 2200 miles on it now. I just recently (within the last 100 miles) noticed a new creaking plastic noise from the front dash of the vehicle. It seems to only start when I’m going 45+ mph. Anyone else have a similar plastic creak noise? I’m wondering if it’s just a quality control thing

Hopefully this is an exception and not a trend. Its my first Toyota and I purchased for reliability and good build quality. If I wanted rattles and squeaks, I would have got another Ford.

You should get it in to them soon. Warranty on this stuff can be more time limited.

I had a 2024 Pro and it made the same type of noise from the start. I did some research and it’s was the fender liner believe it or not. I know-like WTF? Google it and there are plenty of threads about it. Not sure if it would be applicable to the 2026. Here is just one thread. There are many. https://www.4runners.com/threads/squeaky-dash.11204/

I’ve checked those areas manually that were mentioned in the other thread, everything seems solid. The noise isn’t from the windshield, it sounds like it’s from the AC controls in the center console near the passenger side

Longshot, but I had a similar issue and it turned out to be something in my glovebox. Maybe check in there. Good luck.

Oof, that wouldn’t work at all for me! We just got a OR and it def doesn’t do that. 300 miles so far. But damn my gas mileage sucks the big one! Hope they can find and fix this tick!!

Dealership said

“There was a rattling noise coming from the AC control area. Will need to start with removing the interior trim pieces and adding foam to reduce the rattle noise”

gotta go back in a week..

Adding foam is a band aid and not a fix. Why don;t they give you headphones or tell you to turn up the audio :)

Seriously, if this does not happen on all vehicles, they need to find and fix the source of the noise, not hide it. Dealer service departments frustrate me.

I hope they get to a real fix for you. Not good on a new vehicle and not the reliability standard I would expect for Toyota.

I agree and I canceled my appointment. I felt like taking apart the dash would create more issues than it would fix. Also, the noise stopped by itself and I haven’t heard it in a few weeks, hoping it stays that way

I had debris in another vehicles AC/ Heater fan. Was from parking outside one night and mice or other vermin getting in and leaving nut shells. The fan eventually mashed up the mess and no more noise.

Fingers crossed for you.

The glovebox door is very sloppy and does not close tight on mine. Check that

Yea it wasn’t that.. if you listen to the video attached above it sounded like it was from the AC area and was more ticking than rattling
