Unsure :((( , drove it off the lot 5 days ago and it has been parked in the structure for 3 days without moving while I was at work and drove it today

The edges are jagged, it looks like it was ripped off. You may have hit something on the highway and tore it off from the screws that hold it on.

I don’t think I hit anything, could be a chance but both my passengers confirmed the theory nothing was hit.

The tires most likely ripped it off after the snag, moderate fray damage to inner tires; it was flopping for about 30 seconds making a clicking sounds that got louder and then heard the rip from the passenger side confirmed by my passenger. and then we heard clicking from driver side then same rip that I can hear passing through my back tires, center portions still intact

I just checked ours (TRD Sport Premium, ~150 miles) and sure enough, one of the screws on the passenger side is missing. All others are at least finger tight. Did not hit any curbs or debris. I’ll be reporting to our local dealer tomorrow.

If you don’t find one locally, I have one you can have for the cost of shipping (and maybe a long skinny shipping box) from St. George Utah. Keep me posted

When I removed it they were all there. I have to say the method they used to attach it seems flimsy AF, especially for application of a part that’ll take hits and a lot of wind force. Almost like they expected people to remove them (maybe clever after all)

I just noticed my broken off this morning. Only had for 2 weeks. Most likely due to high speed, ~80mph. What would the dealer say, would they replace it?

I am interested in the breaking point. Is it at the point the bracket is screwed in and maybe caused by over torquing the screw or was it the bracket failing due to stress?

I would definitely take to the dealer.

I was planning on keeping mine on. I am in the minority not doing off-road or travelling in crazy deep snow.

Same with mine on both sides. I just dropped off at the dealer. I’ll update what they said. Four other people replied to my thread reporting the same issue.

I just noticed upon inspection I’m missing the 2 second most outboard bolts on each side, from the factory. Whoops…
